Necochea faces high financial debt and water surplus levels

The district of Necochea is facing significant economic and environmental challenges. According to data from the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA), 10,936 residents—approximately 14.23% of the adult population—have accumulated payment arrears exceeding three months. The average debt in arrears per person is reported at approximately $3,466,028.71.

Simultaneously, Necochea has been identified as one of the ten districts in the Buenos Aires province with the highest water surplus indicator. The district holds a 53.2% indicator, ranking tenth among 92 municipalities surveyed by the provincial Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services. This technical indicator follows a period of flooding and rural road damage, with 691 millimeters of rainfall accumulated through August 2026.
