Necochea municipality imposes temporary bans on alcohol sales and heavy vehicle traffic

The Necochea municipal government issued Decree No. 2208 to prohibit the sale, distribution and supply of alcoholic beverages across the district from 16:00 to 23:00 on the day of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final featuring Argentina. The decree, signed by Mayor Arturo Rojas and Government Secretary Jorge Martínez, exempts registered restaurants, bars and similar venues, which may serve alcohol for on‑premises consumption only. Violations can lead to immediate preventive closure, seizure of alcohol and municipal fines.

Separately, the municipality reiterated Order No. 7129/11, which bans heavy‑vehicle traffic on rural roads, unpaved streets and other vulnerable routes while rain persists and for up to 72 hours after precipitation ends. The restriction, announced by the Urban and Rural Services Agency (EMSUR), aims to protect road conditions and avoid damage. Non‑compliance may result in fines ranging from 250 to 5,000 fixed‑value units.
