Necochea opposition protests municipal delays in public reports
Opposition members in Necochea are criticizing the municipal government for significant delays in responding to legislative information requests. Councilwoman Eva Ayala announced the creation of a ‘ranking of silence,’ a monthly statistical tool designed to publicly expose the time it takes for municipal departments to provide answers on community issues.
Specific delays cited include requests pending for over 870 days regarding the operational status of the Operations and Monitoring Center (COM), specifically concerning active cameras and recording capacity. Other outstanding issues include waste management data pending for 860 days and school infrastructure plans for Municipal Kindergarten No. 31 pending for over 400 days.
Local criticism has also targeted the effectiveness of security commission meetings. While officials and council members have held meetings at the Monitoring Center to discuss rising insecurity, critics argue these actions serve more as political propaganda than as substantive efforts to resolve neighborhood robberies and safety concerns.
