Ned Lamont leads Ryan Fazio in Connecticut gubernatorial poll

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows Democratic Governor Ned Lamont holding a significant lead in the Connecticut gubernatorial race, with 58% support compared to 38% for Republican challenger Ryan Fazio.

Campaign finance reports reveal intense spending between the two candidates. From July 1 through September 30, Fazio spent $9.6 million, including $7.2 million on television, broadcast, cable, and streaming advertisements. During the same period, Lamont spent $10.6 million. Since the start of their respective campaigns last year, Lamont has outspent Fazio $13.6 million to $10.6 million.

Fazio’s campaign noted a delay in receiving his $18 million Citizens’ Election Program grant, which did not arrive until July 15 following a State Elections Enforcement Commission investigation into a potential consultant overlap with an independent-expenditure group. No wrongdoing was found.
