Neda Parmać reflects on difficult early music career

Singer Neda Parmać has shared emotional reflections on the difficult beginnings of her music career via social media. She recalled her experience participating in the talent show ‘Hrvatski Idol’, which eventually led to her fame.

Parmać revealed that a year prior to her success on ‘Hrvatski Idol’, she and her sister, Sanja Parmać, auditioned for ‘Story Supernova Music Talents’. While Sanja passed the audition, Neda did not, an experience that left both sisters in tears and led Neda to believe she was not suited for a singing career. She had even considered pursuing a degree in economics to work in banking.

Encouraged by her family to try again, Neda auditioned for ‘Hrvatski Idol’ with low expectations. She performed ‘Natural Woman’, the same song her sister had performed shortly before. This performance allowed her to advance through the competition and into the live rounds, despite her persistent fears of failure during the process.
