Nedim Rama faces scrutiny over foreign stock investments
The Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) has raised questions regarding the asset declaration of Nedim Rama, the director of the state-owned company NOMAGAS. The opposition party is seeking clarification on the source of funds used for Rama to purchase shares in foreign companies, including Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Novo Nordisk, and SOFI Technologies.
BDI specifically pointed to the timing of these investments, noting that according to the declaration, the shares were acquired on April 22, 2026, while Rama was already serving as the head of NOMAGAS. The party has called on the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption to verify the origin of the capital and ensure no state funds or public tenders were involved.
In response, Vlen issued a statement defending Rama, asserting that his investments are legal, transparent, and have been officially reported to the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption. Vlen noted that the total reported value of the portfolio is approximately 30,000 euros and that the capital gains from these trades were transparently declared and taxed. They characterized the opposition's claims as an attempt to frame publicly reported assets as hidden capital without providing evidence of illegal activity.
