Nedim Sladić demands environmental action from Sarajevo authorities
Meteorologist Nedim Sladić has issued six critical questions to the future authorities of Sarajevo Canton, demanding concrete long-term solutions for pressing environmental and climate issues.
Sladić’s inquiries focus on several key areas: the protection of Curine njive to prevent potential large-scale disasters, the management of urban waste in public spaces, and the maintenance of drainage systems to mitigate flood risks during heavy rainfall. He also called for stricter penalties for those intentionally polluting rivers and natural sites.
Addressing public health and urban planning, Sladić highlighted the need for long-term measures to combat winter smog and air pollution, noting that the city's basin geography complicates the issue. Furthermore, he raised concerns regarding the protection of water conservation zones against illegal construction, the necessity of increasing urban greenery to combat the heat island effect, and the overall cleanliness of the city for both residents and tourists.
