Actress Neelam Kothari has addressed long-standing rumors regarding a romantic connection with her frequent 1980s and early 1990s co-star, Govinda. During an interview with Times Now, Kothari stated that she was unaware Govinda was married at the time the rumors surfaced.

Kothari explained that a personal relationship was never an option due to her age and strict upbringing. She noted that she was very young, focused on her career, and was often accompanied to film sets by family members.
