Neemias Queta pledges to play for Portugal in World Cup qualifiers

Boston Celtics forward Neemias Queta announced at the Estoril Open tennis tournament that he will join the Portugal men’s basketball team for the next FIBA World Cup qualifying games. After missing the previous international window while renegotiating his NBA contract, Queta said, "The plan is to go to the games, help the team as much as possible, be competitive and reach the World Cup." He will be available for the match against Spain on 28 August in Zaragoza and for the game versus Georgia on 31 August in Matosinhos, Portugal. Queta also took part in the doubles final ceremony, tossing the coin for the Brazilian‑French pair.

He emphasized readiness, stating "we go in together and we are always ready" and highlighted his commitment to give his best for the national side.
