Neemrana Music Foundation to debut AI-powered opera in New Delhi

The Neemrana Music Foundation is launching a pioneering Indo-French production titled ‘AI Meets Opera: Monsieur Beaucaire’ in New Delhi. The project aims to integrate a 1919 French opera with artificial intelligence, immersive visuals, and live performances.

The production features a 20-member French orchestra, Indian opera singers, a French AI technology start-up, and students from IIT Delhi. Presented under the India-France Year of Innovation 2026 in collaboration with the French Embassy, the event seeks to use technology to enhance rather than replace live performance.

Performances are scheduled for September 9 at the Kamani Auditorium, and September 12-13 at the Lotus Temple. The opera is based on a story by Booth Tarkington, adapted into an English opera by André Messager.
