Neeraj Chopra to resume training following ankle injury
Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has announced he will resume training and rehabilitation within the next few weeks. The two-time Olympic medalist is recovering from an ankle ligament tear sustained during a training session in August.
Chopra reported significant improvement in his condition after consulting orthopedic surgeon Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala. The injury forced him to miss several major international competitions this season, including the World Athletics Championships, Commonwealth Games, and the Asian Games. His last competition of the year was the Lausanne Diamond League on August 21, where he secured a second-place finish.
Chopra expressed gratitude to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) for their ongoing support during his recovery period.
