Neşet Ertaş commemorated in Keçiören on 14th anniversary of death

Turkish folk music master Neşet Ertaş, known as ‘Bozkırın Tezenesi’, was commemorated on the 14th anniversary of his passing during a special program at Fatih Stadium in Keçiören, Ankara.

The event was organized through a collaboration between Keçiören Municipality and the Kırşehirliler Platform Culture, Social and Solidarity Association. The ceremony included a moment of silence and the national anthem, followed by musical performances by artists Tahir Uçar and Mert Göçer, as well as the Abdallar Ensemble, who performed traditional bozlak pieces.

Keçiören Mayor Dr. Mesut Özarslan addressed the attendees, emphasizing social unity and service to the public. Demet İyilikbilen, President of the Kırşehir Platform, noted that the continued interest of younger generations in Ertaş’s music demonstrates how his cultural legacy lives on.
