Neşet Ertaş Festival Opens in Kırşehir with Memorial Prayers

The second Neşet Ertaş Cultural and Music Festival began in Kırşehir, Turkey, marking the 14th anniversary of the folk legend’s death. The opening ceremony was held at Bağbaşı Cemetery, where a Qur'an recitation was followed by prayers at the graves of Neşet Ertaş and his father Muharrem Ertaş.

Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek addressed the gathering, emphasizing the city’s cultural heritage, while Neşet Ertaş’s son Hüseyin Ertaş spoke about preserving his father’s legacy. The program also featured a performance by Kyrgyz kopuz artist Kullmat Sıdıkov and attendance by cultural officials, members of parliament, and many citizens.
