Negeri Sembilan FC demands walkover after match cancellation

Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) is demanding a walkover victory following the last-minute cancellation of their Malaysia Super League match against Kuala Lumpur City FC at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman Paroi.

The match, scheduled for August 22, 2026, was called off by the Malaysian Football League (MFL) after KL City reported that 15 players and two officials were suffering from influenza symptoms, including fever, cough, and diarrhea. KL City requested the cancellation to prioritize player welfare and prevent the spread of illness.

NSFC management expressed deep frustration, noting that all logistical, medical, and security preparations were complete, incurring significant costs. The club also highlighted the disappointment caused to approximately 5,000 fans who had purchased tickets. NSFC is firmly requesting the three points be awarded to them as a walkover, arguing the situation was entirely beyond their control.
