Negeri Sembilan prepares 2027 budget amid political debate

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim has announced that the 2027 state budget will focus on driving regional development, strengthening the economy, and enhancing public welfare. During a budget retreat session with State Legislative Assembly members, Lasim emphasized that spending plans are being meticulously coordinated to ensure optimal utilization of state allocations for the long-term benefit of the people.

The budget presentation is scheduled for November 27, following the expected opening of the State Legislative Assembly on November 26.

In contrast to these development goals, some local commentary has raised concerns regarding the state's political stability. Critics have pointed to a perceived shift from the administrative stability seen under previous leadership toward a more complex constitutional environment involving the monarchy and traditional customary law institutions.
