Negeri Sembilan pushes high‑tech investment and SME support to raise wages

Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, chairman of Barisan Nasional in Negeri Sembilan, said the state must attract high‑tech investment that offers well‑paid jobs, moving away from low‑wage industries that could be located in countries such as Indonesia, Thailand or Vietnam. He argued that technology‑driven sectors, like automotive assembly, create skilled positions and can reduce reliance on foreign labour while addressing income gaps and graduate unemployment.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi called for Negeri Sembilan to become a business‑friendly state by empowering micro, small and medium enterprises (PMKS). He urged collaboration with MARA to identify and mentor promising entrepreneurs, aiming to transform local businesses into internationally recognised brands within five years. Zahid stressed that clear leadership and decisive policy are needed to accelerate the state’s economic development.
