Negotin court to host trial for Danke Ilić murder case

The Niš Court of Appeals has ruled that the trial for the murder of two-year-old Danke Ilić will be transferred from the Higher Court in Zaječar to the Higher Court in Negotin. This decision follows previous rulings by the appeals court that required a completely new judicial council to handle the case.

Dejan Dragijević and Srđan Janković are charged with aggravated murder in complicity. The indictment alleges that on March 26, 2024, in Banjsko Polje near Bor, the defendants struck the child with a vehicle in which they were employed and subsequently placed her inside. It is suspected they then disposed of her body at a landfill. The body of Danke Ilić has not yet been found.

The prosecution is seeking life imprisonment for both defendants. While Radoslav Dragijević was initially a suspect for allegedly assisting in moving the body, legal proceedings against him have been suspended by court order.
