Negotino: 350,000 euros found hidden in wall of Judge Ristov's parents' home

During court proceedings regarding Judge Gjoko Ristov, defense lawyer Aleksandar Varela testified about a police search conducted at the home of Ristov's parents in Negotino. Varela stated that officers discovered 350,000 euros hidden behind a wall in the kitchen area.

The money was reportedly found inside 13 silver foil packages. According to the testimony, police became suspicious of the wall after noticing a hollow sound when hitting the tiles. When questioned about the contents of the cavity, Zdravko Ristov, the father of the judge, allegedly told officers that the contents were money and not illegal substances.

Varela further testified that Zdravko Ristov expressed a desire to keep the large sum of money a secret from his children. The defense also raised procedural concerns, noting that police reportedly counted the cash on a carpet and, in one instance, performed the count without wearing protective gloves.
