Neguinho da Beija-Flor musical celebrates 50 years of samba

Actor Izak Dahora and director Luiz Antonio Pilar appeared on the program ‘Vem com a Gente’ to discuss the musical ‘O Neguinho da Beija-Flor – Musical’. Currently playing at the Teatro João Caetano in Rio de Janeiro, the production celebrates the 50-year career of the renowned samba figure Luiz Antonio Feliciano Marcondes, known as Neguinho da Beija-Flor.

The two-act musical spans approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, tracing Neguinho’s life from childhood to his final years performing in the carnival parades. Dahora expressed the honor and responsibility of portraying the joyful sambista, while Pilar noted the depth of the subject's history in Brazilian samba and carnival.
