Neguinho da Beija-Flor to debut new stage productions

Renowned samba singer and composer Neguinho da Beija-Flor is launching new stage productions to celebrate his career following his retirement from the Beija-Flor de Nilópolis samba school in 2025.

A musical titled ‘O Neguinho da Beija-Flor – Musical’ is scheduled to premiere on September 10, 2026, at the Teatro João Caetano. Directed by Luiz Antonio Pilar with a text by Aydano André Motta, the play will trace the artist's journey from a childhood of poverty in Nova Iguaçu to international recognition. The production is sponsored by Petrobras through the Petrobras Cultural program.

Additionally, the artist will perform ‘Neguinho da Beija-Flor Canta Sua História’ at the Teatro Rival Petrobras on September 4, 2026. This solo show features a repertoire of hits such as ‘Ângela’ and ‘Deusa da passarela,’ accompanied by a full band, reflecting on his five decades as the voice of Beija-Flor.
