Neha Bora advocates for inclusive education to drive social development
Neha Bora, president of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), has emphasized that inclusive education is a fundamental driver of societal progress and a necessary tool for reducing social disparities. Speaking at an event organized by the Network of Women in Media, India (NWMi) at the Mumbai Press Club, Bora argued that excluding large segments of the population from the learning system ensures that a nation continues to lag behind in key metrics such as literacy, happiness, and press freedom.
Bora criticized the increasing role of privatization in the education sector and called for a comprehensive overhaul of the system to ensure quality education for all. She noted that the government holds a responsibility to uphold the democratic ideal of equality through accessible education.
These remarks follow recent activism by Bora, including a 23-day hunger strike in Delhi regarding alleged NEET paper leaks and participation in protests concerning recruitment examination irregularities in Jharkhand.
