Neha Bora emerges as prominent Indian student activist

Neha Bora, the national president of the All India Students' Association (AISA), has emerged as a prominent figure in India's Gen Z-led protest movement. A former activist at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Bora gained recognition through a 23-day hunger strike regarding education issues and has since become a visible leader in demonstrations concerning political accountability and electoral roll irregularities.

Bora has recently drawn attention for her vocal support of the Palestinian cause, describing the ‘Free Palestine’ slogan as a symbol of resistance against subjugation and a defense of human empathy. She has drawn parallels between Israeli politics and the ideologies of the BJP and RSS in India, alleging that both promote majoritarianism and justify violence against perceived ‘others’.
