Universidad Nacional de Pilar celebrates third anniversary

The community of Pilar is celebrating the third anniversary of the creation of the Universidad Nacional de Pilar (UnPilar). The institution is currently located at the former Instituto Pellegrini site.

UnPilar currently serves more than 6,000 students across 12 different degree programs distributed among three faculties. The university's legal foundation was sanctioned by the National Congress in 2023, following a long-term effort that included a petition with over 70,000 signatures.

University rector Lizzie Wanger noted that the project began well before 2023, driven by a community desire to provide local higher education opportunities. The municipality of Pilar was responsible for the construction of the university's own facilities.
