Neil Diamond Musical Rehearsals Preview Broadway Production

Broadway is gearing up for the debut of "A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical," with Will Swenson rehearsing as a young Neil Diamond. The show chronicles Diamond’s journey from a shy Brooklyn youngster to an international hit‑maker, featuring songs such as "Sweet Caroline" and "Cracklin’ Rosie." Directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer and choreographed by Steven Hoggett, the production was written by Anthony McCarten.

Swenson said the rehearsals felt “good times never felt so good,” recalling the moment he performed dozens of Diamond songs for the singer himself, who gave his enthusiastic support. The musical concluded its U.S. tour and is set to open early next month. At 85, Neil Diamond was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2018 and stopped live performances, though his legacy remains strong, especially in Australia where he toured seven times between 1976 and 2015.
