Neil Patrick Harris and Julianne Hough to star in ‘Damn Yankees’ Broadway revival

A new Broadway revival of the classic musical ‘Damn Yankees’ has been announced, starring Neil Patrick Harris as Mr. Applegate, Julianne Hough as Lola, and Austin Scott as Joe Hardy. This production marks the first Broadway revival of the show in over 30 years.

The production is partnered with Major League Baseball and MLB Studios. This updated adaptation features a book by Will Power and Doug Wright, with direction and choreography by Sergio Trujillo. The story has been updated to the early 2000s, following a diehard baseball fan who makes a high-stakes deal to bring his team, the Baltimore Orioles, back to glory.

Following an out-of-town run at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., the musical will move to the Marquis Theatre in New York. Previews are scheduled to begin on March 24, 2027, with the official opening set for April 20, 2027.
