Neinor Homes reduces Aedas Homes workforce following takeover

Neinor Homes has significantly restructured Aedas Homes following its successful takeover bid. Approximately 120 employees, representing about one-third of the company's 358-person workforce as of March 2025, have left the firm during the integration process.

Neinor Homes secured control of Aedas Homes after an initial takeover bid in December 2025, which acquired 79.2% of the capital from the US-based fund Castlelake. A subsequent offer to minority shareholders in March increased Neinor's stake to 96.83%.

The acquisition has led to a major overhaul of Aedas Homes' leadership. Former CEO David Martínez was replaced by Borja García-Egotxeaga in February, while Jordi Argemí took over as president. Other key departures include CFO María José Leal de Carlos, Legal Director Patxi Castaños, and in August, David Botín and Javier Sánchez.
