Neiphiu Rio calls for inclusive solution to Naga political issue
Nagaland Chief Minister and Naga People’s Front (NPF) President Neiphiu Rio has called for an inclusive and acceptable settlement to the decades-old Naga political issue. Speaking at the NPF’s 64th Foundation Day, Rio urged all negotiating parties to demonstrate sincerity and accommodation to achieve lasting peace.
While noting that the NPF is not a direct negotiating party in the dialogues between the Centre and Naga political groups, Rio emphasized the party's role as a facilitator to bridge differences and foster a conducive atmosphere for the peace process. He stressed that peace is essential for economic growth, investment, and employment.
Rio also addressed internal party matters, urging NPF members to prioritize public service over personal ambition and to strengthen the organization across all 60 Assembly constituencies. He called for greater participation from women and youth and welcomed new members who have recently joined the party.
