Neiva police launch theft prevention and responsible tourism campaign
The Police Metropolitan of Neiva, led by Colonel Alex Andrés Muñoz Ausecha, carried out community‑focused awareness sessions in the city’s main tourist zones, including the Plazoleta de las Artesanías and the Los Pescadores area. Officers provided practical advice to tourists and local merchants on how to avoid theft, urging people to keep personal items under supervision, refrain from displaying valuables, protect bags and electronic devices, and promptly report any suspicious activity through the emergency line 123.
The same initiative also promoted responsible tourism and the protection of the River Magdalena, emphasizing its ecological and economic importance. Police officials highlighted the goal of creating safer, more trustworthy environments for both residents and visitors while fostering a culture of self‑care and environmental stewardship.
