Yeni Parti officials Mustafa Erdem and Nejat Türktaş under investigation

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched a bribery investigation into Mustafa Erdem, a Yeni Parti Member of Parliament for Antalya. The investigation, conducted by the Bureau of Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes, follows allegations involving a $5 million payment.

Digital evidence reportedly suggests the funds were intended to facilitate legal processes for Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek, specifically regarding medical reports for house arrest. Erdem has denied the allegations, stating he sought legal guidance through intermediaries but refused any requests for money and instead received threatening messages.

In a separate but related development involving a large-scale drug investigation centered in Ankara, Nejat Türktaş, the Yeni Parti Konya Provincial Chairman, was detained. Türktaş was taken into custody following a search of his home in the Ereğli district and has been transferred to Ankara for questioning.
