Nela Lopušanová scores five goals in NCAA record-tying performance
Slovak hockey player Nela Lopušanová achieved a historic milestone playing for the University of Wisconsin Badgers. During a 7:2 victory over St. Cloud State, the 18-year-old forward scored five goals and added one assist.
Lopušanová is only the second player in Wisconsin history to score five goals in a single game, matching a record previously set by American hockey legend Hilary Knight in 2008. She is also the first player in the program's history to achieve this feat during a freshman season.
Following ten games in her debut NCAA season, Lopušanová has recorded ten goals and eleven assists for a total of 21 points, placing her at the top of the league in scoring productivity.
