Nello Petrucci unveils ‘Narciso’ sculpture in Pompeii

Artist Nello Petrucci has unveiled a new sculpture titled ‘Narciso’ (Narcissus) at the Habita79 hotel in Pompeii. The white resin work is installed on a large mirrored surface, creating a visual dialogue between the physical sculpture and its reflection.

The piece draws inspiration from the classical myth of Narcissus, which is historically significant to the iconography of Pompeii. Petrucci uses the myth to explore contemporary themes of identity, self-perception, and the modern obsession with image and visibility. By placing the observer in front of their own reflection, the work serves as a conceptual investigation into the fragility and ego of modern society.
