Nelly Korda to miss inaugural WTGL season

World No. 1 golfer Nelly Korda will not participate in the inaugural season of the Women's Tech-infused Golf League (WTGL). The announcement comes as the league confirmed its five team rosters for the upcoming season scheduled to begin in the winter of 2026-27.

Korda's absence is notable, as only four of the current top 10 players in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings have committed to the indoor league. Korda previously expressed mixed feelings regarding the WTGL, citing concerns over its ‘separate-but-equal’ structure and the desire for men and women to compete on the same playing field for the same prize money. Logistical demands and scheduling commitments were also cited as factors.

The five competing franchises, which mirror the men's TGL teams, are Atlanta Drive, Boston Common, Los Angeles Golf Club, Motor City Golf Club, and New York Golf Club. Participating rosters include prominent LPGA players such as Charley Hull, Jeeno Thitikul, Minjee Lee, Lydia Ko, Brooke Henderson, Lexi Thompson, and Rose Zhang.
