Rapper Nelly revealed during an appearance on The Breakfast Club that Taylor Swift paid him $50,000 in cash inside a McDonald’s bag for a surprise performance in 2011. The incident occurred during Swift’s Speak Now tour in Houston, Texas, after she requested his presence to perform his hit song, “Hot in Herre,” for a routine she and her friends had created.

Nelly stated that Swift contacted him unexpectedly from St. Louis to ask for the favor. While she noted she did not have a large budget, she provided a private jet to transport Nelly and his children to Houston, along with a presidential suite at the Four Seasons. Nelly requested the cash be placed in a McDonald’s bag, a request that was reportedly fulfilled by Swift’s manager, Robert Allen.

The two artists have maintained a friendship over the years, collaborating on multiple tours including the Red and 1989 world tours. Nelly and his wife, Ashanti, were also among the guests at Swift’s recent wedding to Travis Kelce.
