Nelson Barbudo supports Mato Grosso railway project

Federal Deputy Nelson Barbudo has announced his support for a proposed railway project in Mato Grosso that would connect Cuiabá to Cáceres and the Bolivian border. The initiative is currently being studied by the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), which is analyzing the technical, economic, environmental, and logistical feasibility of the approximately 219-kilometer branch line.

Barbudo intends to mobilize the Mato Grosso congressional caucus to prioritize the project in Brasília. He aims to involve the state and federal governments, as well as the productive sector, to move the proposal beyond the technical discussion phase. The deputy stated that the railway could serve as a major economic driver for the Western region, potentially attracting industries, increasing job creation, and reducing logistics costs for agricultural production.
