Nelson-Mandela-Gesamtschule students petition for safer school routes

Students from the 6a class at Nelson-Mandela-Gesamtschule in Bergisch Gladbach have launched a petition titled ‘Safety on our school route’ to demand better lighting in specific areas. The students identified several locations, including the Mülheimer Straße underpass, Sieglindenweg, and the railway embankment near the tax office, as being dark and unsafe during winter months.

The petition, which has already gathered over 500 signatures, aims to secure the community's safety by requesting the installation of new lamps. Students are scheduled to meet with Mayor Marcel Kreutz on September 29 to present their concerns and discuss the matter with the city administration.
