Nelson Martins, father of STF Minister Cristiano Zanin, dies at 90

Nelson Martins, a lawyer and father of Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (STF) Minister Cristiano Zanin, passed away at the age of 90. The death occurred on Sunday (11) in Piracicaba, São Paulo.

The Supreme Federal Court issued an official note of condolence, with President of the STF and the National Council of Justice (CNJ), Minister Edson Fachin, expressing solidarity with Minister Zanin and his family. Other judicial leaders, including Minister Luis Felipe Salomão, also expressed their condolences.

Nelson Martins is survived by his wife, Maria Roseli Zanin Martins, three children—Cristiano Zanin Martins, Caroline Zanin Martins, and Nelson Martins Junior—as well as grandchildren and other relatives.
