Nelson Oliveira targets seventh top-10 in World Championship time trial

Portuguese cyclist Nelson Oliveira is competing in the time trial at the World Championships in Montreal, Canada. The 37-year-old veteran is aiming for his seventh career top-10 finish in this discipline during his 14th appearance at the championships.

If Oliveira achieves a top-10 result over the 39.2-kilometer course, he will surpass former three-time champion Michael Rodgers and tie with Uwe Peschel. His previous best performance was a fourth-place finish in 2017 in Bergen, Norway.

Other major contenders in the event include Remco Evenepoel, who is seeking a fourth consecutive title, and Filippo Ganna, a two-time champion. Nelson Oliveira, who rides for UAE Emirates, will be joined in the competition by Ivo Oliveira.
