Nelson Tapia resurfaces after serious car accident in Chile

Former Chilean national team goalkeeper Nelson Tapia has reappeared publicly following a serious car accident on August 7 in the La Araucanía/Maule region. The incident occurred on Route 5 South at the intersection with route L-651, where Tapia lost control of his vehicle.

Authorities reported that Tapia was driving under the influence of alcohol, with blood alcohol levels recorded at 1.04 grams per liter. Following the accident, he was transported to a medical center to treat his injuries.

In the wake of the incident, Tapia resigned from his position as technical director of Imperial Unido, a club in Chile's Third Division A, citing personal reasons. Tapia later shared a message on social media alongside his children, reflecting on the importance of life and expressing gratitude for the support received during his recovery.
