Nelson Velásquez clarifies comments regarding Silvestre Dangond

Vallenato singer Nelson Velásquez has addressed recent controversy regarding his comments about fellow artist Silvestre Dangond. During a live stream with content creator Westcol, Velásquez stated that Dangond is “more show than singer,” suggesting that while Dangond once produced high-quality vallenato music, his career has since shifted toward commercial spectacle.

Following a backlash from fans, Velásquez released a video on social media to clarify his position. He emphasized that his remarks were taken out of context and reiterated his deep respect for Dangond’s musical career and trajectory. He clarified that he was not questioning Dangond’s vocal ability, but rather commenting on the current focus of his professional presentation.
