NEMA begins flood relief distribution in Kebbi State

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has commenced the distribution of food assistance and livelihood empowerment items to 653 households in Kebbi State. This initiative is part of the Presidential Post-Flood Intervention Program, an effort approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to support communities affected by the 2025 floods.

The relief package includes 500 bags of rice, 500 cartons of spaghetti, and 250 cartons of vegetable oil. The program aims to restore livelihoods and strengthen community resilience, with priority given to female-headed households and persons living with disabilities.

According to NEMA, the 2025 flood disaster impacted 128 local government areas across Nigeria, resulting in 241 deaths and affecting approximately 459,995 people. The floods also displaced 158,588 individuals and destroyed over 96,000 farmlands, along with various businesses and infrastructure.
