Nemocnice Strakonice opens new rehabilitation garden

Nemocnice Strakonice has opened a new rehabilitation and relaxation garden designed for patients, staff, and visitors. The project transformed nearly 7,000 square meters of previously unused space in the northern part of the hospital complex into a functional area for recovery and rest.

The garden features several specialized elements, including a water feature, a Kneipp path, a barefoot walking trail, and various rehabilitation tools. These facilities are intended to help users improve coordination, balance, and strength through both seated and standing exercises.

Hospital Director Tomáš Fiala stated that the goal was to create a space that provides a tangible benefit for rehabilitation rather than just a simple landscape improvement. Landscape architect Lucie Langová noted that the large area allowed for more complex features, such as the Kneipp path, which aims to improve the local microclimate and provide a restorative environment for hospital staff.
