Nemrut Dağı summit hosts Rotary disability awareness and polio eradication event

The Adıyaman Nemrut Rotary Club held its 24th annual “Climbing Nemrut with the Disabled” project at the summit of Mount Nemrut. The event brought together individuals with disabilities, their families, and Rotary members from various Turkish provinces and abroad.

Participants reached the 2,206-meter summit to raise global awareness for the “End Polio Now” campaign, carrying banners to advocate for the eradication of polio. The event also served as a platform for solidarity, particularly in the context of the region's recovery following the February 6 earthquakes.

In addition to the advocacy efforts, the program included a musical performance by artist Eylül Ergül and guitarist Onur Aymergen amidst the ancient statues of the UNESCO World Heritage site. The project also provided practical support to individuals in need, including the distribution of wheelchairs and white canes.
