Former Serbian national basketball team captain Nenad Krstić has commented on the positive impact of Dušan Alimpijević’s appointment as head coach. Speaking on the “Kapiten” podcast, Krstić noted that Alimpijević has brought a new level of energy to the team, helping to reverse a potential decline in player interest following the departure of Svetislav Pešić and recent setbacks at EuroBasket.

Krstić also emphasized the importance of the national team as a source of inspiration for younger generations. He observed that while global social media allows children to follow international stars, the presence of world-class players like Nikola Jokić continues to drive local interest and provide domestic idols for young athletes.
