US‑Kosovo partnership deepens at 250th Independence celebration

The United States Embassy in Pristina organized a ceremony on 2 July to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. Ambassador Anu Prattipati used the occasion to stress that the Kosovo‑US partnership is built on shared values and that “opportunities for cooperation in defence, trade and energy are limitless.” She urged Kosovo’s government to join the US‑led regional LNG projects, calling such collaboration essential for the country’s future energy security. Prattipati highlighted ongoing US support for Kosovo’s institutional development, its role in the International Stabilisation Force and the forthcoming contribution of Kosovo troops to a UN‑mandated monitoring mission in Palestine. Kosovo officials, including Acting President Albulena Haxhiu, thanked the United States for its historic assistance in the country’s liberation and state‑building, and reaffirmed the commitment to deepen bilateral ties across security, economic investment and regional cooperation.
