Nenad Saveski rejects claims of judicial pressure in North Macedonia

State Prosecutor Nenad Saveski has rejected public perceptions that courts in North Macedonia are operating under pressure or influence from the Public Prosecutor's Office. Speaking after a meeting of the Council of Public Prosecutors, Saveski emphasized that judicial decisions are made in the name of the citizens based on laws and evidence.

Addressing specific legal cases, including ‘Laskarci’ and Stevcho Jakimovski, Saveski clarified that the Supreme Court evaluates the legality of decisions made by lower courts rather than the indictments themselves.

Regarding the ‘Pulse’ case and the potential release of owner Dejan Jovanov due to expiring legal limits, Saveski stated that detention duration is strictly regulated by law. He noted that while the maximum legal periods for detention are nearing expiration, the prosecution maintains other legal options to ensure the suspect's presence.
