Nenad Vujić attends temple consecration in Valjevo juvenile prison

Nenad Vujić, the Minister of Justice in a technical mandate, attended the consecration of the Temple of Saint Grand Martyr Demetrius at the juvenile correctional institution in Valjevo. Accompanied by Mile Jandrić, Director of the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Vujić emphasized that providing space for religious rites is both a legal obligation and a Christian tradition.

Vujić noted that the Law on the Execution of Criminal Sanctions guarantees convicted individuals the right to visits from clergy. He stated that religious activities are supported because faith helps individuals find true values in life. The institution has served over 20,000 young people over the last 60 years, providing education and vocational certification.

Director Jandrić highlighted that the construction of the temple involved contributions from both staff and inmates, demonstrating unity. He noted that the facility organizes various workshops to address the needs of young people, including spiritual discussions intended to help them move past their mistakes and plan for the future.
