Neo4j introduces Context Engine for Agentic AI
Neo4j has announced the launch of the Neo4j Context Engine, a new component designed to help enterprises build a central Knowledge Layer for Agentic AI. This layer allows AI agents to immediately capture, link, and utilize corporate knowledge to improve context understanding, reach, and memory, thereby increasing the reliability of AI-generated results.
The engine utilizes a predefined six-layer business ontology that connects various organizational domains—including business processes, data, and AI resources—within a Neo4j graph database. This model links physical data sources directly to business logic to facilitate context-aware decision-making.
Companies can construct this business ontology from existing data sources such as Snowflake or Databricks. The semantic layer can be managed via headless execution, command-line tools, or Python packages, and is designed to integrate with existing data platforms, catalogs, and storage systems.
