NeodraDynamics and Boston Dynamics unveil new humanoid robots

Two major advancements in humanoid robotics have been announced, targeting industrial applications through different mechanical approaches.

NeodraDynamics introduced the Neo1 at the 2026 China International Industry Fair. Standing approximately four meters tall, the Neo1 utilizes a hydraulic-electric hybrid drive system designed to achieve high torque and durability. The company claims the robot is capable of carrying loads up to 500 kilograms.

Boston Dynamics has presented a new generation of its all-electric Atlas robot. Designed for factory environments, the 1.9-meter-tall robot weighs 90 kilograms and features 56 degrees of freedom. It is capable of lifting up to 50 kilograms momentarily and 30 kilograms continuously. The updated Atlas includes a specialized four-fingered hand with pressure sensors to improve precision in tasks such as using power tools, prioritizing industrial robustness over human-like mimicry.
