NeodraDynamics unveils Neo1 industrial humanoid robot

NeodraDynamics Robotics has introduced Neo1, a massive humanoid robot designed specifically for heavy industrial applications. Debuting at the China International Industry Fair 2026 in Shanghai alongside JD Industrial, the machine stands approximately 13 feet (four meters) tall and weighs 1.2 tons.

Unlike standard humanoids that rely solely on electric motors, Neo1 utilizes a hybrid system to manage extreme loads. Of its 41 active degrees of freedom, 39 joints are powered by proprietary miniature digital hydraulic actuators, while the remaining two rotational joints in the forearms use servo-electric control. This architecture allows the robot to achieve a combined lifting capacity of approximately 500 kilograms (1,100 pounds).

In addition to its strength, the robot is designed for high precision, with a reported positioning repeatability of ±5 micrometers. NeodraDynamics aims to deploy Neo1 in demanding environments such as factories, mines, power plants, and ports, where handling heavy components or working in hazardous conditions poses risks to human workers.
