Neoenergia Elektro removes 7 tons of irregular cables in Brazil
Neoenergia Elektro has removed more than 7 tons of unauthorized telecommunications cables and equipment from utility poles across its concession area this year. The operation aims to improve public safety, reduce visual pollution, and ensure proper use of shared infrastructure.
In the Rio Claro region, the removal included 1,530kg of materials in Rio Claro, 1,850kg in Pirassununga, and 620kg in Limeira. Authorities noted that irregular installations increase the risk of accidents, fires, and structural collapses, potentially impacting essential services.
Telecommunications companies are required to submit technical projects for approval by the energy distributor in accordance with regulations from the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) and the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel).
